1st February 2010

I have just sat down and coded the basics required for the competition and I am pleased to announce it has started. You now how the entire month of February to upload your renders. For each render you submit that appears on the site will count towards your total. The competition is divided into 3 sections (High Quality, Standard Quality and Low Quality) each of these three divisions offers the winner a $25 cash prize (made payable to a PayPal account.

Check Out Where you Stand

As a word of warning I will be coding it so LOGOS will not be accepted into the total.

Twisted Effect managed to come up with a good idea in the form of uploading PNG files to the site. I can't believe I didn't add it in the first place. Now when you go to the PSD Upload page you will see the option to access the PNG Uploader. Here you can upload PNG files to the site for users to download. The only problem with this is there is no current script to convert PNG files to PSD so that download will only be available in PNG. This I don't think matters too much and as I have loads of PNG files to convert and upload this will save me a hell of a lot of time.

After sitting down and working out what I could afford for prizes I have finally come to a descision. I have decided that the monthly PSD submission competition will begin on 1st February 2010 (coincidently my wifes birthday). It will seperated into three different catergories. The categories will be...
  1. Most HQ PSDs submitted.
  2. Most Standard PSDs submitted.
  3. Most LQ PSDs submitted.
As this is going to be a sort of BETA run I have decided that each category will offer a set $25 prize for each category made payable to PAYPAL account. All donations made to the site after server bills are paid will be distributed over the three catergories each month. So although the cash prize will change from month-to-month it will be a minimum of $25 per month. The rules behind the competition are simple.
  1. All submissions must be cut by yourself and if you are caught uploading someone elses work you will be banned from entering future competitions on the site.
  2. Any logos submitted will not count towards your total. Only photo images.
  3. Only PSDs that will count are those that are checked and approved to appear on the site.
  4. Any registered PSDProtocol member is entitled to enter.
  5. Competition starts on 1st February 2010 and finishes on the 28th February 2010.
Any questions you have please feel free post them in here.

25th January 2010

I have come up with a nice little way to get the site a little more active and back to the way it was a few years ago. Basically what is will revolve around is the member with the most amount of HQ PSDs per month will be awarded a prize. Now I am not 100% sure what the prize will be but to save postage it would have to be some sort of digital prize. Suggestions I have had already are...
  1. PayPal Money
  2. XBOX360 Subscription Codes
  3. XBOX360 Microsoft Points
If you have any suggestions of your own please feel free to post them HERE. I don't plan on starting anything until February 2010 and more details will be revealed nearer the time.

23rd January 2010

I am happy to announce that PSDProtocol is back and ready for business. If you would like to start adding renders to the site you will need to create an account. Bare in mind that you will not be required to signup to download our renders - all renders are available for the time being to anyone. This may change in the future but for now enjoy. Anyway, if you want to start contributing to the site simply head on over to the user signup page and create an account. From there you will be able to access the PSD uploader. Simply select your PSD and give it a name then hit upload. It will then be placed into the database and once an admin has approved it it will appear on the site. If your PSD isnt accepted you will still be able to give out the link friends for them to enjoy.

22nd January 2010

I first off want to let you know that I am expecting the site to be up and running within the next week. So keep checking back and I hope to try and keep you updated as much as I can. Secondly I am extremely happy to announce a new partnership for the new year. We have always struggled to get the forums off the ground (I am pretty lazy when it comes to that aspect) so I was over then moon when I was approached by Ben over at WCF about an interesting idea. From this day on we are happy to be able to say that WCF will now become the official home for the PSDProtocol forums. If you want to become a member of an extremely active forum and benefit from the expertise of large memberbase then I suggest you pop on over today and sign up. This will also be the ONLY place you can request renders.

20th January 2010

Hi there. As you can see the site is a little - well empty. Well this is because yet again we were hacked and our database was erased. I thought I had a backup but alas no. Sowe are now working on the site to get it up and running. The big and better news this time is EVERYONE can contribute to the site. More will be revealed in time. Please bare with us and we will get a forum up and running so at least you can communicate with us.

All donations made will go towards the monthly running of the server and contribute towards uploader prizes.
